The meaning of this book is to show expression through combative actions and the philosophies of Zen. For many years I have studied and taught the Japanese martial arts and through this journey I have witnessed the true meaning of Budo. Budo is the honest expression within your heart. To be honest, without letting outside distractions sway your from what is truly right in your universe is very hard to do. This honest expression comes from every aspect in our life not just in the dojo.

I've studied martial arts for years and actually heard about this book on the author's Facebook page. I found it on Amazon. Over all there are many interesting quotes with background photos of martial arts. The book is a quick read with mainly Zen insights. This is not a training manual or even a story of ninjutsu like the books by Stephen K Hayes. This is more of a simple philosophy than a how-to book. By main complaint is that it has a table of contents listed with chapters and page numbers however there are no page numbers on any of the following pages Page numbers stop on page 8 which is the table of contents and do not start again until page 80 which is at the end of the book. Not sure if this was intentional or what an oversight by the publisher. Considering that this book is listed as a 2nd edition such an error should have been caught and corrected. Overall a nice book for my martial arts book collection.Product details
